Our Community Events in 2019

Over 2000 individuals (children and parents) served on the Far East Side of Indianapolis in 2019.

Here's a look at the community events we did in collaboration with our many wonderful community partners in 2019. Great look at some of the impact we have had in our community through our community events. This would not have been possible without the help and support of our community partners.

Community Action Day

March 16, 2019 starting at A&I Variety Meats and Produce

Community effort buy out the only black-owned grocery store on the Far Eastside.

4th Annual 5,000 Eggs Easter Egg Hunt

April 27th, 2019 at Greene Park

Held 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt event after rescheduling due to weather concerns for 2-12 year olds which over a hundred estimated children attended.

#OurYouthMatters Peace March

June 1, 2019 starting at 38th and Franklin Road and ending at A&I Variety Meats

Over a hundred people marched east side streets for PEACE in the streets on the Far Eastside.

4th Annual Back 2 School Bash

July 27, 2019 at Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis 38th & Post Road

4th Annual Back 2 School Bash was a huge success with nearly 900 children in attendance today, over 800 back packs, and over 200 family intakes. Also had bounce houses, music, face painting, raffles, and barbers in attendance to give out free hair cuts. The Ross Foundation also donated $3000.00 for 200 annual BGCI memberships for youth that live on the far Eastside of Indianapolis.

1st Annual The Marathon Continues Fundraising Gala

November 9, 2019

Our 1st Annual Fundraising Gala was a huge success. We raised $15,000 to help with our programs and events.

1st Annual Coat Giveaway

November 16, 2019 at A&I Variety Meats & Produce

1st Annual Coat Giveaway was a huge success, we delivered over 400 coats to children in need on the Far Eastside.

5th Annual “No Family Will Starve” Event

November 23, 2019 in Far Eastside Community

5th Annual “No Family Will Starve” Event was a huge success, we delivered food to over 60 families bringing us to serving over 500 people.

5th Annual “Making Every Kid Smile” Toy Giveaway

Dec 21, 2019 at Windsor Village Family Center 6510 E. 25th St.

Gave away over 1500 toys, hats, gloves, and food for families. Over 800 children attended.

Note that this does not include efforts associated our BASIC program, our Mother's Cry support group, and our many community outreach activities.
