10 Major Events on the Far East Side of Indianapolis. Over 1000 individuals served on the Far East Side of Indianapolis.

Here's a look at the community events we did in partnership with our many community partners in 2018. Great look at some of the impact we had in our community.

Far Eastside Community Clean Up Day

March 17, 2018 starting at 8925 E 42nd St, Indianapolis, IN 46226

Community effort to cleanup our far eastside community

5,000 Eggs Easter Egg Hunt

March 31, 2018 at Greene Park

Held Easter Egg Hunt event for 2-12 year olds which hundreds of children attended. Also provided bounce houses, music, face painters, games, raffles, book mobile for children.

HOOP 4 H.Y.P.E. Spring Break Youth Basketball Clinic

March 26 to March 30,2018 at LECC (Craig Middle School)

Held youth summit to ensure youth are safe, engaged, active, learning and serving when on breaks from school

Week Long Resource Fair

May 5 - May 9,2018 on the Far Eastside (at Carriage House East Apartments, Maison Gardens Apartments, Meadowlark Apartments, and Phalen Leadership Academy)

Worked with community partners to provide mental health, trauma addiction, re-entry, legal-aid, housing, food access, and job opportunity services to attendees

Hundreds of people marched east side streets for PEACE

3rd Annual Back to School Block Party

July 28, 2018 at Dubarry Park

In partnership with our community partners, we provided 600 book bags filled with school supplies to youth. Also had bounce houses, music, face painting, raffles, and a barbering school in attendance giving out free hair cuts.

Youth Peace March in Muncie, IN

Muncie's mayor invited our founder - Derris Ross - to bring our Peace March to Muncie, IN

Ross Foundation Street Outreach Training

October 4, 2018

Led by the CRP through our B.A.S.I.C. Program, we trained community members on community engagement, conflict resoultion, and faith walks

4th Annual “No Family Will Starve” Event

November 22nd, 2018 at 3 different apartment complexes (Carriage House East Apartments, Maison Gardens Apartments, and Meadowlark Apartments)

Over 60 turkeys and 600 canned goods given out to 60 families

4th Annual “Making Every Kid Smile” Toy Giveaway

Dec 22, 2018 from 2pm to 5pm at Windsor Village Family Center 6510 E. 25th St.

Over 1500 toys given to over 600 children

Note that this does not include efforts associated with our #OURYOUTHMATTERS youth council, our BASIC program, and our Mother's Cry support group. For 2019, we aim to provide more data to the public on our events and our program findings. Stay tuned.
